Meesh started her music career singing at the age of 19. Her journey took off in the early ’90s working with many dance labels. Meesh became the lead singer for Rebel MC. Her career took her touring around Europe & America. Meesh also performed with bands supporting many headline artists including Al Green, Alexander O’Neal, D-Ream & Wet Wet Wet.

Meesh’s career then shifted into the theatre where she played Aretha Franklin’s character in The Blues Brothers Musical UK tour, belting out “Think” every evening. Whilst raising her family Meesh continued to write songs and work on her own projects.

Having co-written some of our show songs,  Meesh is coming back to the stage as The Musical Storyteller Host performing some of the songs with her distinctive, powerful & soulful voice.

Meesh Jay My Cancer Journey

In 2010 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation-therapy. This was a very daunting time in my life but with immense support from family and friends the journey was smooth! In between taking medication and having regular check ups I continued making music and taught myself how to shoot music videos.

As an advocate for breast cancer awareness I was invited to be a part of  Stella McCartney and Idris Elba’s breast cancer campaign which was fantastic!

I’d met Tony Larking and Mo Pleasure when I was sent to interview Mo for Soho Radio and ended up becoming great friends with them both. I was invited to get involved with Tony’s music project and the rest is history really. The band were made up of phenomenal musicians and the songs were written with everybody and every genre in mind.

After a 10 year journey I’m now in remission with my breast cancer and have been actively involved in creativity.
